| Notes |
1. A symbol (discovered by our team in 1992). TBK (8:2) has three additional letters ti yā ṉa at the end of the inscription not confirmed by the CICT Photographic Survey. 2. The alternative reading ēma-ūr as a place name is possible. 3. The alternative reading ciḻivaṉ ataṉ as a composite personal name is possible but less likely in the present context. See ETE 2, Commentary 19.4. 4. cf. LT tāṉam 'gift, charity'; dāna(ṁ) (Pkt.). 5. 'of the cave' is understood from the context. |
